MAKE A NEW TRADITION: SPRING SKIING
New year, new traditions. As the hustle and bustle of the holidays winds down, you might be looking for a unique experience to provide your family. And we know just the thing to get you and your kids excited about 2017 – spring skiing! Spring, glorious spring—just around the corner. The season of renewal. And the season for some of the best skiing of the year.
Give your family a vacation they will never forget and carry over the joy of the holidays into the sunshine season. Discover a new staple for your family with spring skiing. Here’s what you need to know about this untapped secret season:
The sunny days and warmer temps make things even more enjoyable for skiers and riders of all ages and skill levels. Make sure to pack layers for the little ones (and yourself). The mornings will require those puffy jackets we’re used to, but once the sun gets high in the sky, you’ll want to layer down to keep everyone comfy.
In spring, the snow is wonderful. Fresh powder in the morning and softer, sun-warmed snow in the afternoon make a great base for kids of all ability levels to test themselves. Looking for an easy day of cruising? Head out in the afternoon and ski the sun. You’ll glide across the snow!
Ease Into the Day
Longer days mean you can start a little later and not miss out. That’s great not only for folks who crave those late-morning runs on freshly groomed slopes, but also for parents who can now take their time getting the family geared up for a long day on the mountain. So go ahead and enjoy that second cup of coffee or that big family breakfast around the condo table. And be ready for après around 3:00 on a sunny deck atop the mountain!
Spring is not only a great time to visit because of the conditions – there are also a number of events happening across our resorts in Colorado, Utah and Tahoe. Here are a few you should consider adding to the itinerary:
• Kidtopia Experience Week: Keystone, Colorado. Join the Keystone family March 5-11 when kids get to rule the mountain! There will be special parades, fireworks, live outdoor music, and more.
• Beaver Creek’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt: Beaver Creek, Colorado. The Easter Bunny will be hosting this year’s hunt for colorful eggs on April 15 – 4,000 eggs, to be exact! Get your egg-spotting skills ready.
• Spring It On! Activities: Northstar, California. Have we mentioned that the resorts love spring? Northstar loves it so much, they’ve created a whole bundle of activities in honor of the season. Come for live DJs, face painting, balloon twisting, and lots of snowy sunshine days April 2-16.
So pick a week this spring when the kids are out of school (or heck, plan a long weekend and take a much needed break from school and work) and head to the slopes of any of our 8 world-class resorts. When you get here, we know you’ll love springtime in the mountains—and maybe even create a new post-holiday tradition along the way.
