Family Memories Made in the Mountains
Snowy peaks, secret hideaways and sweeping views—it’s just another day any any of our world-class resorts. Whatever time of the day you’re looking for action (or a place to relax) during your next visit, check out these activities. You’ll quickly discover why these mountains are the ideal places to get away with the family for a well-deserved and long-remembered vacation.
It’s time to rise, shine and prepare for an action-packed day on the slopes. At Whistler Blackcomb, head out first thing and float through some of the best snow around. You’ll probably find yourself exploring for the rest of the day.
When you’re ready for a new experience, think outside the lift. Pile your crew into a snowcat for a ride to the top of Keystone (the heated cabins will give you that extra boost), and then enjoy gliding down endless acres of terrain. There will be no shortage of wide-eyed smiles on this adventure.
If you have some skiers or snowboarders in your group who are newer to the sport, consider signing them up for a lesson. Our expert instructors at Beaver Creek —and all of our resorts, for that matter—will start them with the basics and gradually improve their technique so they’re ready to experience the mountain at its best. You might even want to join them to brush up on your skills and turn the lesson into a family bonding session.
Hungry for a late lunch and looking for a place to rest your tired legs after a day of exploring the slopes? Check out Miners Camp restaurant at Park City, located near the bases of the Silverlode lift and the interconnect gondola. Enjoy a bowl of homemade soup or chili, fresh salads, and a selection of Mediterranean kabobs and gyros, then settle in front of the huge windows to take in all the action on the slopes.
At Vail, head to Adventure Ridge at the top of the mountain and enjoy the rush of a multi-lane tubing hill. There’s a convenient lift to help you make the most of your tubing session, and uncontrollable giggles (from kids of all ages) are guaranteed.
Looking for a memory-making activity off the slopes? Grab a coffee or cocoa and ride the gondola to the top of Heavenly in the afternoon. The views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountain peaks are epic, and sharing them with loved ones is pure magic.
Get your night off to a snuggly start with stories told by a crackling outdoor fire pit—a favorite activity of the young and young-at-heart alike—in Northstar Village. You’ll also find s’mores, an ice-skating rink, and plenty of snowball-ready white stuff nearby.
When it’s time for family dinner, look to the town of Breckenridge. You and your group will have plenty of options that locals and travelers alike enjoy. This mountain town is made for memory-making.
Take advantage of our delightfully long ski season with a family trip to the mountains. Whether you’re new to our resorts or coming back for more of what you know and love, you’ll find a bevy of opportunities to relax, have fun and forge new memories.
